What does being a 2025 Presidential Trainee mean to you?
Being a 2025 Presidential Trainee means a lot to me. It means that I am capable of conducting research that is impactful and conveying research through a short abstract, of course, with the help and guidance from my great advisor, Dr Amber Beitelshees.

What was your favorite part of attending the Annual Meeting?
My favorite part of attending the Annual Meeting was reuniting with so many colleagues and friends and making new ones!

Who has inspired you in your career?
I am inspired by every woman who is capable of pioneering in her career and at the same time balancing a happy personal life, and there are so many examples in our area of pharmacogenomics research. I won't mention any names, so I don't miss any!

How do you keep focused and motivated?
I keep focused and motivated by putting short-term goals and rewarding myself when I am done with them!

Salma has been a member of ASCPT since 2024.
